A Letter from the BTG President...
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the 77th season of the Baraboo Theatre Guild! My name is Griffin James, and I have the honor of being the current President of this incredible community organization.
On behalf of the BTG Board, I’d like to thank you for your past support of the Baraboo Theatre Guild and also share our latest updates. Whether it has been by attending one of our productions, donating your time and talents to creating a production, sponsoring a show, performing, or donating money, we could not do what we do without you! Steve Spiegel, from Theatrical Rights Worldwide says it best when he says; “By promoting unity, creating an accepting environment for debate, self-expression and interactivity, community theatre is the centerpiece to the fabric of our society; an unmatched component to the very health of our neighborhoods, towns and cities.” We know when a community embraces the arts, people want to visit that community and maybe even be a permanent part of it! Baraboo is so very lucky to have a community that embraces all forms of the arts.
However, it’s not just luck that fosters a strong community arts scene. The Baraboo Theatre Guild is a 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with an 11 member Board of Directors. Our mission is to present significant dramatic presentations to audiences in the Baraboo area and to promote interest and skills in acting and all aspects of theatre production both on and backstage. The Board meets once a month to promote this mission, to ensure that BTG’s assets are protected and preserved, bills are paid, and the season’s shows and activities are planned with care and poised for success.
We hope you have enjoyed this season's Attack of the Killer Grasshoppers and All Shook Up and are looking forward to Waiting for Godot, Middletown, and A Grand Night For Singing. We are looking forward to announcing the 2024-25 Baraboo Theatre Guild season at the Downtown Baraboo Spring Fair On The Square on May 11th, 2024. Stop by the BTG booth to find out what our upcoming season will bring!
With the average musical production costing around $38,000 coupled with non-show related expenses such as rent, insurance, scholarships, and website maintenance, the Baraboo Theatre Guild relies on community support to continue operations. Contributions to the Baraboo Theatre Guild help provide acting and backstage experiences for Baraboo area residents, scholarships for local students, and they help bring high caliber musical and play productions to the community.
We ask that you consider sending a tax deductible donation by clicking on the Donations tab at the top or by mailing a check to our address below. Doing so will help ensure BTG’s future within our community. We are grateful for any and all contributions.
Thank you for supporting the arts!
Sincerely,
Griffin James
